Choosing the Size of Artwork for Your Wall

A helpful tip to add to your painting knowledge.

By Marion Boddy-Evans, About.com

When planning what size of painting to put on a wall, go as large as you can with blank wall space on either side equal to about three-eights the width of the art. Still not sure? Take a piece of brown paper or newspaper and cut it to the size of the artwork you are planning to buy. See if, dimensionally, it suits your wall space. One large painting makes more of a statement than a group of small paintings.
