Priming or Painting a Large Canvas

A helpful tip to add to your painting knowledge.

By Marion Boddy-Evans, About.com

A secret to painting large canvases with acrylics and also priming large or coarse-weave canvases, is to throughly wet the canvas down, either by using a paint roller or wide house painter's brush, before applying the paint or gesso. The time that it takes to do this will pay off by reducing the time and ease of your labors tremendously.
